Laird, Donivee M. The Three Little Hawaiian Pigs and the Magic Shark. Barnaby Books, Inc.,
1981. Print.
This written and illustrated remix of the tale, published in Honolulu, Hawaii, is also very consistent with the classic tale in its thematic and contextual elements. It varies in that the villain is a shark instead of a wolf, but the first two pigs are still relatively lazy when it comes to building their houses to keep out the shark. The third pig, however, as seen above, manages to "me[e]t a man selling lava rock" and was able to make his house stronger and better simply because he went the extra mile to do so.
